Beloved Teacher

Sr. Bernadette came to St. Mary's in Clayton NY & was my teacher when I was in 8th grade. She was very different from the nuns we had had up to that point, in a good way. She displayed such enthusiasm for teaching that we all caught the fever too. I moved away in 1967 & lost touch with Sister until she moved back to Clayton after I retired & I saw her for a couple of delightful summers. We shared meals & caught up with all the stories of our lives. Her last years were spent in Alexandria, Ontario & I visited her there a couple of times too. I so enjoyed her stories & reminisces, especially about my Dad always helping the nuns. She lived a long life & was productive long after most of us retire. God has a beautiful new angel!
