Gwyn, My daughter, Paige, rode with Reba at Brave Hearts - and I know you spent some time at GDHS with Paige last year. Please accept my condolences on the loss of your husband. This is the John I remember with the grin like he had a story only he could tell. Growing up in Williamstown we all knew one another but lost touch as we moved on. One night Al Cooper and I were out having a beer in Cornwall when who should we run into but John. Well John was trucking at the time and after telling us some rather homourous stories of deliveries in Harlem (NYC) we proceeded to bobtail around Cornwall in John's brand new truck he was so proud of. What a night!

I found this written on a card and thought to myself if John had 1 last story to tell it would have gone just like this: There's a place I've never seen beyond this world we know. A place I've only heard of but someday hope to go. It's not on any map, there are no roads to take me there, But it's a place of perfect peace where hearts are free from care. And though I understand some may be saddened when I leave, One day, we will meet again that's what I believe... When it's time to travel there, I think I'll wear a smile, I'll say good-bye to those I love, but only for awhile, Knowing there are others who have traveled there alone, Who cannot wait to greet me and to whisper "Welcome Home"

To Gwenyth and kids and to Betty his sister, I was so sad to hear about John passing when I spoke to my Dad Delard Dubeau this past week. I now live in Alberta and have lost touch with many old friends. But I will always remember how John loved to make people laugh! What a wonderful gift to have. I remember both him and his sister Betty in elementary school with me and highschool and church and how much fun he brought to a gathering with all his jokes. Gwen and Betty: Mary and I wish to extend our heartfelt condolences to you and your family and we wish you strength in the days ahead. What a shock it was for us to learn of this sad news. John and I go back a long way – back to high school years. John was always full of fun and also had a vivid imagination. He loved to tell stories and was in awe listening to stories told to him. Many days I would go to John’s family farm to help out. After the work was done, I would sit at the picnic table along with John and Pete (his dad), have a beer and listen to entertaining stories. It’s a great legacy that he leaves behind. May John rest in peace. He will be sadly missed.
