Tragically at the Ottawa Civic Hospital on Thursday, February 22, 2007 as the result of a motor vehicle accident. Evariste Jeaurond of Alexandria (former owner of Jeaurond’s Gardens); age 87 years. Beloved husband of the late Irene Jeaurond (nee Lefebvre). Dear father of Henri Jeaurond (Gisele) of Green Valley, Suzanne Piette and Rene Jeaurond (Carole) both of Alexandria. Loving grandfather of 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Dear son of the late Denis Jeaurond and the late Cecilia Quenneville. Predeceased by his grandson, Andre Piette, as well as his sisters, Malvina, Rev. Sister Marie, Albina, Josephine, Fleurestine, Emma, Marguerite and by his brothers, Andre, Jeremie, Ferdinand, Joseph, Isaac and William. Mr. Jeaurond is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call at the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 114 Main Street South, Alexandria, (613-525-2772) on Thursday, March 1, 2007 from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 10 p.m. and on Friday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Eglise Sacre-Coeur, Alexandria, on Friday, March 2, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Interment, Sacre-Coeur Parish Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, Memorial Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated by the family. As a memorial to Evariste, a tree will be planted in Memory Woods.
