At the Cornwall Community Hospital McConnell site on Tuesday, February 19, 2008. Howard Ward Evans of Greenfield; age 85 years. Veteran of World War II. Beloved husband of Rita Evans (nee McDonell). Beloved father of Lynda Evans of Greenfield, Patricia Vrolyk (Ron) of Stittsville, Ron Evans and Audrey Evans both of Maxville. Dear brother of Allan Evans (Dora) of Cambridge and Muriel Organ of Mutton Bay, Quebec. Predeceased by one son Allan Evans, by one sister Dorthy Evans and by four brothers William, Reuben, Tom (Marion of Mutton Bay, Quebec) and Les Evans (Madeline of Montreal). Dear son of the late Thomas Evans and the late Lucy Buffett. Also survived by four grandchildren Martin, Kim, Rita, and Sarah. Relatives and friends may call at the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 114 Main St. Alexandria (613-525-2772) on Friday, February 22, 2008 from 2-5 pm and 7-9 pm and on Saturday from 9:30 am until 10:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church Greenfield on Saturday, February 23, 2008 at 11 am. Cremation will follow. As expressions of sympathy, Memorial Donations to the Heart & Stroke foundation of Ontario or to the Kidney Foundation of Canada would be appreciated by the family. As a Memorial to Howard, a tree will be planted in Memory Woods. A tree grows-memories live.
