Condoléances: Dear Celine, Diane and family,

With our deepest sympathy on the passing of your beloved sister, Pauline. Her beautiful spirit will live on in the hearts and memories of all who knew her.

There are so many memories of time with Pauline... it is impossible to recount, except to say that, despite many years of having no contact, when I saw her in 1995 at a reunion function, it was just like 1963. She looked wonderful, and she spoke frankly about life and how blessed she was with her children. When we communicated again recently, in late 2007, she again spoke about how lucky she was with all that she had, despite her illness, how blessed she was with her family and the people in her life. She seemed to emanate love, and it is painful to think about how much we -- especially you -- will miss her. But if there is anything wonderful beyond, that is surely where she is now, smiling, and loving from there.

Please tell your children, and especially Pauline's children, how important the Richard family was to all of the Barre boys (and girls as well) who spent so much time on Summer Street in the early 60's. Near the Catholic church, but with no religious purpose in mind. It was to spend time with the Richard family, especially the Richard girls, who were the most popular and beautiful around.

I remember so well your parents, and the many times visiting at your home, where they welcomed us. Nous avons meme parle un peu de francais avec eux. (The Richard family helped us with our French grades.) We all remember, and will never forget the Richard family, especially the incredible Richard girls.

It is difficult to believe that Pauline has passed on. Thea (my wife) joins me in sending you this message of love and friendship, as we share the tremendous sorrow that you are experiencing. With our thoughts, prayers and best wishes,

    John & Thea Miles
