Peacefully with family at his side on Monday, May 31, 2010. Douglas Jewer of Alexandria, formerly of Montreal; age 76 years. Beloved husband and best friend of Helen Jewer (nee Trottier). Loving father of Bruce of Milton, ON, Alan (Barbara Wilson) of Brampton, ON, Debbie Lewis (Ken) of Victoria, BC, Kenneth of Waterloo, ON, and Daniel Collins (Barbara) of Vancouver, BC. Proud grandfather of Katrina, Stacey, Michael, Christopher, Darcy, Thomas, Kaitlyn, Emma, Aeon, and great grandfather of Trinity and Kinsey. Son of the late William Ronald Jewer and the late Lucy Bobbitt. Survived by 3 brothers and predeceased by 4 brothers and 1 sister. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Finnan’s Cathedral, Alexandria, on Friday, June 4, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. As expressions of sympathy, Memorial Donations to the Glengarry Memorial Hospital Foundation or the Ottawa Heart Institute would be appreciated by the family. As a Memorial to Douglas, a tree will be planted in Memory Woods. A tree grows - memories live.
