Tragically as the result of an accident in Glen Robertson on Saturday, July 10, 2010. Wilfrid Oscar Vachon of Glen Robertson at the age 80 years. Beloved husband for 55 years of Colette Vachon (nee Cholette). Loving father of Francine Rowe (Richard) of Cornwall, Helene Adams (Jerry) of Alexandria, Yvon Vachon (Marina) of Lachute, QC, Ginette Ferguson (Alex) of North Lancaster and Chantal Vachon (Mike) of Glen Robertson. Predeceased by his daughter, Yolande Lacombe (2007). Cherished grandfather of Eric, Melanie, Shawn, Melinda, Marc, Sylvie, James, Jeffrey, Anna-Lee, Christopher, Melissa and Mederic and great-grandfather of Dana, Louis-Charles, Joshua and Cebastien. He will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Relatives and friends may call at the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd, 114 Main Street South, Alexandria, (613) 525-2772 on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Église St. Martin de Tours, Glen Robertson, on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. followed by cremation. Memorial Donations to the Ottawa Heart Institute would be appreciated by the family. As a memorial to Wilfrid, a tree will be planted in Memory Woods. A tree grows – memories live.
