After a courageous battle with cancer, François moved on peacefully, while surrounded by his family at home on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at the age of 58 years. He will be loved and remembered forever by his devoted wife Audrey (nee Wetering). He was an amazing devoted father and friend to Melanie Montpetit (Sylvain) of Glen Walter and Patrick Viau (Christie) of Lancaster. Beloved grandpa of Mia and Alice Montpetit. Always cherished by his siblings Suzanne Marleau (Robert) of Oliver, B.C., André Viau (Marie) of Lancaster, Colette Frappier (Marcel) of Cornwall, Jean-Marc Viau (Catherine) of Lancaster, Joanne Viau (Daniel) of Rivière-du-Loup, Qc., Paul Viau (Andrew) of South Lancaster, and Majella Romanko (Morris) of Lancaster. Predeceased by one brother Alain Viau. Dear son of Thérèse (Sauvé) and the late Gérard Viau. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed for his dedication to his family, friends and community. Relatives and friends may call at the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 46 Oak St. Lancaster (613-347-3629) on Friday, January 28, 2011 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm and on Saturday from 9:30 am until 10:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Precious Blood Catholic Church, Glen Walter on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 11 am. As expressions of sympathy Memorial Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. As a Memorial to François a tree will be planted in Memory Woods.
