Condoléances: Dear Bev, Laura, and Dawn,

My heart goes out to you and your family with the loss of Malcolm. I will treasure all the wonderful times with the parties, great music and laughs.

Still remember back in junior high when I found out my friends dad - Malcolm used to play fiddle with my grandpa - small world! One thing I will always remember was when your dad was laughing so hard when my dog took off out of the house and we were chasing her up and down the street to get her back. Or the surprize on his face when the dog jumped in the car with him! Also, the enjoyment when we took him to my sister's farm to see the horses.

May the wonderful memories and tunes live on.
    Love,
    Tracy

I was sorry to hear about your Dad's passing. If he was a fiddler, he must have been a fine gentleman.

Condoléances: We would like to offer our sincere condolences to the family.
Malcolm knew my father Murt Fahey, they used to see each other
at the fiddle contests and enjoy their conversations. My father
mentioned him often. He will be sadly missed.

May God be with you in this most difficult time and help you
    heal.

Condoléances: We have many fond memories of Malcolm I remember when he lived at our Ferguson house in Dunvegan, and began taking fiddle lessons from my mother Olive. I remember the party at his apartment in Ottawa, too noisy after eleven, so we moved it to our house in Stittsville.
many great musical evenings! He will be missed. Our sympathy to you all.

  • de: Kevin & Teresa McCarthy

Condoléances: I (Kevin) met Malcolm in September, 1957 in a rooming house on James St. in Ottawa. He was going to EOIT, the Eastern Ontario Institute of Technology which had just been established that year, and I was going to first year Science at Ottawa U. My brother, Douglas, and I shared a room. Malcolm and a fourth boarder each had a room of their own. Douglas was working at Wallack's Art Shop and saved up some money to buy a guitar. When Malcolm saw him bring it into the house, he stopped by to chat and when he found I played a little fiddle, he said he was learning as well and suggested we bring our instruments the next week for a quiet little jam session. We did that and we tried our best to keep it quiet, but the next morning, Mr. Gauthier (the landlord) read us the riot act and forbid any further music in the house. He said "with the tap, tap, tap on the floor up there, I thought the ceiling was coming down!" And so ended our short musical association for that year. It was great to hook up again many years later through the OTFFAS and to get to know you, his very talented and gracious family. He was a man of great character and integrity as well as talent. God has a special job for him to do. Love to all.
