Peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, June 5, 2012. Gisèle Giroux Besner of Alexandria, formerly of Glen Nevis; age 73 years. Beloved wife of Bernard Besner. Loving mother of Lyne Besner-Lauzon (Alain) of Greenfield, Jean-François Besner (Marjolaine Plante) and Stéphane Besner both of Glen Nevis. Dear sister of Annette Lanthier (Maurice) of Sainte-Justine-de-Newton. Cherished grandmother of Nicolas, Sébastien, Simon, Olivier, Anaick and Jasmine. Predeceased by one brother Rémi Giroux (Georgette of Montreal). Dear daughter of the late Hector Giroux and the late Olina Carrière. Also survived by many brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call at the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 114 Main St. South, Alexandria (613-525-2772) on Friday, June 8, 2012 from 2-5 pm and 7-9 pm and on Saturday from 12 noon until 1:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Église Sacré-Coeur, Alexandria on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 2 pm. Cremation will follow. As expressions of sympathy Memorial Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. As a Memorial to Gisèle a tree will be planted in Memory Woods.
