Passed away peacefully at the Chateau Gardens Nursing Home, Lancaster on Tuesday, June 19, 2012. Henry Hore of Bainsville; age 85 years. WWII Veteran with aircraft carrier HMS Venerable. Member of 306 Maple Leaf Wing (Montreal RCAF Legion), life member of Cornwall Flying Club, member of the Junior Aviator Program Summerstown, and founding member of Canadian Space Technologies. Beloved husband of Elsa Anita Hore (nee Smith). Loving father of Fredric Hore (Josée) of Dorval, Dr. Nancy Woodley (George) of Ada, Ohio, Brenda Parent (Harvey) of Sault St. Marie, and Lorna Lesser (Darryl) of Hudson. Predeceased by one sister Susan Ross and by one brother Michael Hore. Dear son of the late Lawrence Hore and the late Ada Shaw. Also survived by 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held in St. Andrew’s & Knox United Church, Bainsville on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 11 am. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 46 Oak St. Lancaster (613-347-3629). In lieu of flowers Memorial Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario or to the St. Andrew’s & Knox United Church, Bainsville would be appreciated by the family. As a Memorial to Henry a tree will be planted in Memory Woods. A tree grows-memories live.
