Passed away on (Good) Friday March 29th 2013, moments before midnight due to lung complications at Glengarry Memorial Hospital. Born the only Son of the late Gustav and Martha Pattyn on April 23rd 1927 in Oostende (West-Vlaanderen, Belgium). Loving Husband to Marcella Pattyn (1931-2007), Beloved Father to Ron & Ricky, Father in law to their respective wives Joanne and Nicole. Endearing Patriarchal Grandfather of Dylan, Kreig, Courtney, Nicholas, Brianna and Tyler. Supportive and cherished younger brother of Marcella Pattyn (Goodman) and loving Uncle to her children Rita and Shirley. Hero of the Second World War, Former President of the Alexandria Legion (Branch 423) and Dear friend to many of the citizens of Glengarry County. Relatives and friends may call at the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 114 Main St. South, Alexandria (613-525-2772) on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 from 7-10 pm and on Wednesday from 12:30 pm until 1 pm. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of the Munro & Morris Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at 1 pm. Cremation will follow. As expressions of sympathy, Memorial Donations to the Canadian Lung Association would be greatly appreciated by the family. As a Memorial to Marcel a tree will be planted in Memory Woods.
