Peacefully at Chateau Glengarry on Tuesday, April 2, 2013. Joseph Julien Gérard Léger of Alexandria; age 89 years. Beloved husband of Jacqueline Léger (nee Carrière). Loving father of Richard Léger (Noëlla) of L’Ange Guardien, Que., Diane Viau (Ronald) of Alexandria, Michelyne Léger of Ottawa, Noël Léger (Sindy) of Glen Robertson, and Anne-Marie Cholette (Richard) Alexandria. Dear brother of Jules Léger (Fleurette) of Cedres, Que., and Thérèse Leblanc of Cornwall. Predeceased by two brothers Roger Léger (Valéda of Cornwall), and Marcel Léger (Angeline of Vermont), and by four sisters Rose Montpetit, Yvette Murphy, Marie Levert, and Bertha Valade. Dear son of the late Arthur Léger and the late Annie Ménard. Also survived by 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call at the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 114 Main St. South, Alexandria (613-525-2772) on Sunday, April 7, 2013 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm and on Monday from 9:30 am until 10:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Ste. Marie de l’Assomption Catholic Church, Green Valley on Monday, April 8, 2013 at 11 am. Cremation will follow. As expressions of sympathy Memorial Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated by the family. As a Memorial to Gérard a tree will be planted in Memory Woods.
