At Hospice Cornwall on Tuesday, September 10, 2013, Lars E. Troide, age 71 years, Professor of English Literature at McGill University for 30 years,. Cherished husband of Mercedes San Agustin, loving father of Nathan Troide of Ottawa and Maia Troide of Alexandria; caring stepfather of Juan San Agustin. Predeceased by first wife, Teresa Marganska and only brother Edmond Troide. Dear son of the late Eleon Troide and Dagmar Wahlberg. Relatives and friends may call at the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 114 Main St. South, Alexandria (613-525-2772) on Friday, September 13, 2013 from 6-9 pm and on Saturday, September 14, 2013 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 am. A Roman Catholic mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at St. Finnan’s Cathedral, 72 St. Paul Street, Alexandria, ON. Cremation will follow. As expressions of sympathy, Memorial Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. A tree will be planted in Lars’ memory at Memory Woods.
