At the Queensway Carleton Hospital, Ottawa on Saturday, January 18, 2014. Frances St. John (nee Carkner) of Ottawa, formerly of Williamstown; age 84 years. Dearly beloved wife of the late Edwin St. John (Eddie) for over 62 years. Dearly beloved mother of Eric (Lyne), Trevor (Tine), and Leslie Burden (Phil). Cherished grand-mother to François (deceased May 11, 2012), Brandon, Bradley, Mark, Christopher, Jeremy (Rachel), and to her 4 great grand-children. Predeceased by her parents John Carkner and Ina Barrigar, and by 1 sister Betty Swimmings. Frankie became a registered nurse in Cornwall and later a member of the Eastern Star Lodge. She lived on the home farm in Glengarry until moving when Eddie began working with the United Co-operatives. Relatives and friends may call at the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 46 Oak St. Lancaster (613) 347-3629 on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 from 11 am to 1 pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of the Munro & Morris Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at 1 pm. Spring Interment will be held in St. Andrew’s United Church Cemetery, Williamstown. A Memorial Service will also be held on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at the Glen Cairn United Church, 140 Abbeyhill Dr. Kanata at 11 am. As expressions of sympathy Memorial Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. As a Memorial to Frankie a tree will be planted in Memory Woods.
