It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joesph Donald Poirier at the Cornwall Hospice on Friday, February 21, 2014. Joseph Donald Poirier of Alexandria; age 80 years. Beloved husband of Dorothy Poirier (nee Luck). Loving father of Tom Poirier (Elizabeth Macdonald) of Alexandria, and Brenda Poirier (Arthur De Pierre) of St. Adele, Quebec. Dear brother of Joan Penning (Tom) of Kingston, and Lucy MacKinnon (Ralph) of Ottawa. Predeceased by one brother Jim Poirier (Late Lee). Cherished grandfather of Michael, Kathleen, and Cameron Poirier. Dear son of the late Henri Poirier and the late Lucy Cullen. A private visitation and Funeral was held at the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 114 Main St. South, Alexandria (613-525-2772). A Public Funeral Service will be held at a later date in St. Sauveur Quebec. As expressions of sympathy Memorial Donations to the Hospice Cornwall would be appreciated by the family. As a Memorial to Donald a tree will be planted in Memory Woods. A tree grows-memories live.
