Rita Decaire passed away peacefully at the Palace in Alexandria, on April 27, 2014 at the age of 94. Rita Decaire (nee Berry) was originally from Apple Hill, and was married to Adrien Besner (predeceased in 1973) and beloved wife of Denossey Decaire (predeceased in 2009). Her parents were the late John Berry and the late Annie Legault. Loving mother of Theresa Deneumoustier (John) of Newburyport, Mass., Deanna Poirier (Gabriel) of Green Valley, Brian Besner (Mary) of Southhampton, Ontario and Denis Besner (Lynda) of L’Orignal. Predeceased by her sisters Aldea Giroux, Millie Lefebvre, and Agatha Pilon; and brothers Harvey Berry, George Berry, and John Berry. Beloved sister of Virginia Reid of Belleville, Sid Berry of Sudbury, Ernest Berry of Whitby, Alec Berry of Brantford, and Bernard Berry of Trenton. Proud grandmother of 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call at the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 114 Main Street South, Alexandria, Ontario, (613-525-2772) on Friday, May 2, 2014 from 2-4 pm and 7- 9 pm and Saturday, May 3, 3014 from 9 to 10 am. A Mass & Celebration of Rita’s long and beautiful life will be held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Apple Hill on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 10:30 am. Cremation to follow the Mass. Burial of cremated remains at a later date. Memorial Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or The Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. As a Memorial to Rita, a tree will be planted in Memory Woods. A tree grows-memories live.
