At the Chateau Gardens Nursing Home on Monday, July 12, 2010. Gerard Viau of Lancaster; age 87 years. Beloved husband of Therese Viau (nee Sauvé). Loving father of Suzanne Marleau (Robert) of Kelowna, B.C., André Viau (Marie) , Jean-Marc Viau (Catherine), Francois Viau (Audrey), Paul Viau, and Majella Romanko (Morris) all of Lancaster, Collette Frappier (Marcel) of Cornwall, and Joanne Viau (Daniel) of Rivière-du-Loup, Quebec. Dear brother of Cecile Menard (late Edward), Lucille Campeau (late Remi), and Pauline Quesnel (Guy) all of Alexandria. Predeceased by one son Alain Viau, by three brothers Eldège, Aimé, and Henri Viau, and by two sisters Alma Campeau and Marguerite Lajoie. Dear son of the late Theodule Viau and the late Aldina Leger. Also survived by 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call at the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 46 Oak St. Lancaster (613-347-3629) on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm and on Thursday from 9:30 am until 10:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Lancaster on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at 11 am. Interment Parish Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy Memorial Donations to the Glengarry Memorial Hospital Foundation or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated by the family. As a Memorial to Gerard a tree will be planted in Memory Woods. A tree grows-memories live.
