Barbara Howard (Nee Davies) passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Glengarry Memorial Hospital in Alexandria, Ontario, on Sunday September 16, 2012. Barbara was born October 19, 1923 and grew up in Swansea, Wales, the daughter of the late Eva Morgan and the late Harry Stanton Davies. She had one younger brother Leon, deceased. Wife of Capt. Peter George Guest Howard, deceased and grand-mother to Emily Howard, deceased. She is survived by her son Peterjon Howard and daughter Catherine Howard-Lightstone, grandchildren Joanna Howard, Alice Howard, Rosalind Howard, Miranda Lightstone-Styker, and great-grandson Owen Styker. Barbara was a successful Art teacher for many years, both in England and Canada. She lived a rich and happy life and will be missed by friends and family. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of the Munro and Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 114 Main Street South, Alexandria (613-525-2772). There will be no visitation and a private memorial service will be held at a later date as per Barbara’s wishes.
