Avis de décès pour Flora Isobel Chisholm

At the Glengarry Memorial Hospital on Sunday, December 22, 2013. Born in Rosetown, Saskatchewan, March 13, 1926. Loving mother of Robert of Dunvegan, and Elizabeth of Alexandria. Dear sister of Fraser MacDonald of Petawawa. Predeceased by her parents Donald John and Margaret (Simpson) MacDonald, husband Wesley, and sister Margaret. Also survived by cousins, a niece and nephews. Flora worked for a number of years in the tax department of the federal government in Ottawa. She was very active in the Kenyon Presbyterian Church, and a member of the WMS and the WA. For many years she was the Curator for the Dunvegan Women’s Institute, recording and collecting the history of the area. She could always be depended upon for genealogical information on local residents. She was also a long-time supporter of the Glengarry Pioneer Museum, and in 2003 received the first Pioneer Award given by the museum for her work in preserving local history. She was always able to provide lunch for any event, be it church social, museum occasion, or euchre party. Her butterscotch pies were known far and wide. Flora has touched many lives in her community, and will be sorely missed by all.
