Peacefully at the Hospice Cornwall on Thursday, May 15, 2014. Roger Altonie Joseph Ménard of Alexandria; age 81 years. Beloved husband of Mariette Ménard (née Houle). Loving father of Roch Ménard (Ginette) of Alexandria, Denis Ménard (Patricia Lefebvre) of Delson, Quebec, Daniel Ménard (Nancy Fortier) of St. Zotique, and Sylvie Ménard (Donald Carrière) of Alexandria. Predeceased by 5 siblings René, Léo, Laurette, Simone and Roland. Dear son of the late Adelard Ménard and the late Yvonne Clément. Also survived by 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Église Sacré-Coeur on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 2 pm. Interment will follow in the Ste-Marie-de-l'Assomption Parish Cemetery, Green Valley. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 114 Main St. South, Alexandria (613-525-2772). As expressions of sympathy Memorial Donations to the Hospice Cornwall or to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. As a Memorial to Roger a tree will be planted in Memory Woods. A tree grows-memories live.
